Know how muscles grow?

Image
Muscles. We have over 600 of them. They make up between 1/3 and 1/2 of our body weight, and along with connective tissue, they bind us together, hold us up,and help us move. And whether or not bodybuilding is your hobby, muscles need your constant attention because the way you treat them on a daily basis determines whether they will wither or grow. Say you're standing in front of a door, ready to pull it open. Your brain and muscles are perfectly poised to help you achieve this goal. First, your brain sends a signal to motor neurons inside your arm. When they receive this message, they fire, causing muscles to contract and relax, which pull on the bones in your armand generate the needed movement. The bigger the challenge becomes, the bigger the brain's signal grows, and the more motor units it rallies to help you achieve your task. But what if the door is made of solid iron? At this point, your arm muscles alone won't be able to generate enough tension to pull it open, so y...

How does the vaccine work in our body?

Image
In 1796, the scientist Edward Jenner injected material from a cowpox virus into an eight-year-old boy with a hunch that this would provide the protection needed to save people from deadly outbreaks of the related smallpox virus. It was a success. The eight-year-old was inoculated against the disease and this became the first ever vaccine. But why did it work? To understand how vaccines function, we need to know how the immune system defends us against contagious diseases in the first place. When foreign microbes invade us, the immune system triggers a series of responses in an attempt to identify and remove them from our bodies. The signs that this immune response is working are the coughing, sneezing, inflammation and fever we experience, which work to trap, deter and rid the body of threatening things, like bacteria. These innate immune responses also trigger our second line of defense, called adaptive immunity. Special cells called B cells and T cells are recruited to fight microbe...

Which is better soap or sanitizer?

Image
Soap vs Sanitizer? Your hands, up close, are anything but smooth. With peaks and valleys, folds and rifts, there are plenty of hiding places for a virus to stick. If you then touch your face, the virus can infect you. But there are two extraordinarily simple ways you can keep that from happening: soap and water, and hand sanitizer. So which is better? The coronavirus that causes COVID-19 is one of many viruses whose protective outer surface is made of a lipid bilayer. These lipids are pin shaped molecules whose heads are attracted to water, and tails are repulsed by it. So in water-rich environments, lipids naturally form a shell like this, with the heads outside and the tails inside. Their shared reaction to water makes the lipids stick loosely together— this is called the hydrophobic effect. This outer structure helps the molecular machinery of the virus break through cellular membranes and hijack our cells. But it has thousands upon thousands of weak points where the right molecul...

The future of movie theaters?

Image
Movie theaters are the great source of entertainment and a fun way to spend the time with friends. In future their may be a possible chance that theaters won't exist because of our rapid growth in technology anyone can watch any movie, film, cartoon etc at any place But we can't replace the place of theaters by Netflix, Amazon because, in theaters we can enjoy Watching movies with our friends and the experience in movie theaters is completley different from watching movies on phone laptop. But most of the people prefer to watch movies in their homes, it's not because they can't afford it, it's because they prefer to save their money as much as possible and if they can watch the movies for free than why will they go to the movie theatres. I prefer watching movies at home beacause 1)watching movies free or low price 2)you can watch in any language you prefer 3)in lockdown most people prefer watching movies at home. I think in the future the movie indu...

What is the Science behind Human brain ?

Image
The brains consist of three parts. The forebrain, which controls all thoughts, senses, motor functions, emotions and hunger. The midbrain controls auditory and visual reflexes as well as awareness. The hindbrain controls coordination and analysis of senses. Brains have a similar texture to tofu. There are 100,000 miles of blood vessels within the brain. Enough to circle earth four times. The ancient Egyptians believed the brain's function was to produce snot. Though the brain only makes up 2% of the body's weight, it uses 20% of the body's energy. A person’s brain has 100 billion neurons. These cells are known as the gray matter which process information. Einstein’s brains have been preserved for study. It is split into 240 separate slides for viewing. 89.06 is the percentage of people who report normally writing with their right hand, 10.6% with their left and0.34% with either hand. More electrical impulses are generated in one day by a single human brai...

Facts about Megalodon ?

Image
About 8 million years ago, a little baleen whale was swimming in the warm coastal waters of Peru. It was only about 3 or 4 meters long, about the size of a Beluga whale, and while it filtered mouthfuls of plankton-rich water, it was unaware that just below it swam a predator. Like the great white sharks of our times, this predator likely hunted whales from below or behind, in case its prey was capable of echolocation.  It turns out that this little whale, known as Piscobalaena, didn’t have that ability, but for the hunter, the element of surprise was enough. It swam up for the attack, and that was thatfor Piscobalaena. We know who the predator was, because it lefta tooth in the whale’s body, which eventually fossilized. It usually goes by its species name, Megalodon, and it was the largest shark that ever lived. At up to 18 meters, it was almost three-quarters the size of a modern Blue whale. Its teeth were as big as your hand – or bigger. And its jaws were wide enough to...
